From the picture we can easily found some bad habit here.

We can see the car owner simply parked their car along the road site, people crossing the road when the traffic light are shown in green.

Rifle range is one of the oldest low cost flat area in Penang Island and the traffic condition there are well known as terrible due to the shortage of car park.

So, many people gives the reason that car park not enaugh, after that just simply parked their car somewhere.

Before that, the previous local government annouced the multilevel car park will build to solve the car park problem, but the story changed after the PGCC project turned up.

Now, our new Penang chief minister found that the PGCC project haven't been approved by the local council. So, the multilevel car park are going build as original plan or remain not build ?

No Smoking on Board

Many thanks to sim_min from chinese forum of Cari.com.my to share with us this bad habit on board.

Penang Port Sdn Bhd set the rules of no smoking on board for the safety of both ferry & passengers.

Anyway, the authority still having a smoking room on board for those heavy smoker and let them "enjoy" in the corner. But, we found that there are many people disobey the order and smoking on board.

That's something to show us what's the level of moral education among our people here.

Sigh..........

Construction site "HERO"

This picture was captured by myself in a day of FEB 2007.

We can see that 2 construction worker are sitting on unstable scalf folding doing their work without any safety precaution.

I think, we can see the same thing from the construction site in local. This showing that the concept of occupational safety and health ( OSHA ) is still at low status for our people here.

Motorcycle Lane

This picture show us a motorcyclist was riding on the car lane at Penang Jelutong Expressway while there is an special motor lane for motorcyclist safety.

Since Jeleutong Expressway open for use, a few deadly and serious accident happening are reported and which most involved the motorcyclist. That's why the local authority build up a motorcycle lane for the safety purpose for motorcyclist. However, many of motorcylist are still using the car lane and ignore the cause of safety of themself.

Each time, we blame on the authority agency to take the responsible on serious accident, but are we ever thinking before who's the one are responsible for that ??

Death accident scene

This picture captured at the death accident scene in Hill Railway Road, Air Itam.

According to the local news report, a couple on the bike was met the acccident which their bike hit on the back of a car tried to take over a school bus parking at the road side.

When the motorcyclist ( 18 years old ) and his girl friend felt from the bike, another bus come from opposite pass through over on him to cause he died on the spot.

For those people living in Air Itam, Penang, there has a well known tourist spot - Penang Hill & Kek Lok Si Temple in the area. Many travel bus or school bus parked along the road side at Hill Railway station road during the holiday session.

I don't know who should responsible for this death accident, but I understand that our country tracffic rules is not allowed to parked any vehicle on the yellow line road side.

Not enaugh seat on the bus

This picture show that 2 person was stand at the front & back door on the bus.

The bus is heading to the Pulau Tikus area and I can see that the bus was full of passengers.

I'm not sure whether they're allowed by the driver to stand at the door there or not, but i'm sure he knows there's a people standing there.

Yellow Box

Traffic summons complain

Many times, we can read on the newspaper that people complained the authority departments giving summons for those offenced the parking rules which the area are short of parking space.

some day in 2006, I read the same story on the newspaper. People who attend a chairity event and parked their car along the road, when the tracfic police ordered to issue the summons, the poeple was unhappy then complain to the media.

So, what's the problem ?? Parking at the road side is strictly offenced the tracfic rules, the police officers just followed the order to issued the summons, they're doing the right thing. So, why don't they complain the organizing society for don't arrange more parking space ??

Bicycle locked on wet raiser pipe

No Parking

This picture was captured in a fire drill exercise.

Before the drill, the hospital security has give the instructions to all staff and visitor where their vehicle to park.

But, there still some Idiot ( sorry ! I don't know what to descript them in better ) didn't follow the instructions, some more parked their vehicle at the prohibit area.

This was captured at the fire scene of an apartment unit here in Farlim.

After the fireman put off the fire, people keep gather at the corridor until the walkway "stucked" with people. Some more, many of them are children.

I can't understand why they are gather there for just watch but no help. If they're there waitting to give hands to their neighbour which his house was on fire, it was acceptable.

For the children, even though the fire has been put off, but there still a dangerous place for children. So, what had their parents done for their kids safety ? The answer is nothing

Dangerous Turn

Here was a death accident scene on 01-04-2006. A young man died after hit by a car which was maked the right turn illegaly from the junction to main road.

A few days after the accident, I got this shot.

There are still got people make the turn there ! sigh....

Parking at wrong place

This is a common bad habit of some driver here like to park their car at anywhere they like. This picture captured in 2005, the driver parked his car at the no stopping roadside and blocked the fire hydrant there.

This was not only a common bad habit, it was also a law offense to blocked the fire hydrant under the fire protecting regulations and road traffic rules.

This picture was captured at a Motor Vehicle Accident ( MVA ) scene in 2005.
A young lady was crashed her car onto a signboard wall block and recieved serious injuries.

Fire & rescue dept was called up for help.

The picture show that a man stand closely to the car and disturbing the Rescue personel in their operation to get the victim out from the wreckage.

At first, we all at the scene thought that the man are the relative of the victim, but he is not.

I can't understand what are that "uncle" brain contain. Firemen are busy to get the lady out, but he just stand beside there to "supervised" the operation.

So, I give him a shot, then put him on here !!

This picture was captured someday in 2005 when i walking around at penang road to snap some shot for my assignment.

I saw a bulldozer driver talking on his mobile phone while filling the petrol at the station there. Some more, the petrol station workers no one step forward to stop the driver.

From this, we can realize that our people ( Malaysian ) here are lagged of the awareness & knowledge of prevention for the tragedy or disasters happening.

This picture was captured someday in 2006 at Irving Road.

A fire hydrant in front of a shop house there has became a dump point to for rubbish.
I don't know who put that thing on it, but surely that's come from the resident there.

Until today, I still can see the same thing at the same place in everyday.

Road Block

This picture was captured in 2005 ( sorry !! forget the date ) at the Irving road fire scene.

We can see that in the picture, the cars parked both side of the road which has blocked the way for fire engine to pass by.

Many times, we just thinking about our own convenience to park the car at any place and give ourself an excuse that " dosen't matter, just park for a while only ".

But, we just forgot to think about the emergency could happening at anytime.

Cooling down the temperature

This picture was captured on some sunny day in 2005.
I saw a hawker there spill the water at the middle of the road.
I still remember that day was a damn hot day, that hawker could be thought to spill the water for cooling the temperature, but just the wrong way for what has he done.
However, this road side hawker "centre" has been moved in to a new built food court there.
So, I won't be capture the same thing there again, but maybe in other place.
